2023–2026 Honda Accord Oil Type & Capacity

Honda's owner's manuals for the 2023–2026 Accord call for 0W-20 in every year. Capacity with a filter change: 1.5L turbo 3.7 US qt (3.5 L); 2.0L hybrid 4.2 US qt (4.0 L).

Two engines, one grade, no year-to-year changes. Every Accord from 2023 through 2026 takes 0W-20, and the only decision left is quantity: the 1.5L turbo takes 3.7 US qt (3.5 L) with a filter, the 2.0L hybrid 4.2 qt (4.0 L).

Owners coming from a 2018–2022 car should look twice at that hybrid figure. The previous hybrid took 4.0 qt (3.8 L); this one is listed 0.2 qt higher. The 1.5L turbo number didn't move, and the 2.0L turbo, the largest Accord fill at 5.0 qt, is no longer part of the lineup. Either current engine fills from one 5-quart jug with enough left to top up later, should the dipstick call for it.

Letting the Maintenance Minder set the date

With grade settled, timing is the question that comes up most, and Honda answers it with the Maintenance Minder. The 2025 manual shows “Maintenance Due Soon” when remaining oil life is 15 to 6 percent, “Due Now” at 5 to 1 percent, and a negative distance under “Past Due” once it runs out. Check your own manual for the current wording.

For hybrid owners the percentage is the better guide. The gas engine starts and stops on its own schedule, so the odometer says less about how hard the oil has worked than it would in the turbo car. Whichever engine you have, buy the filter by year and engine through a parts lookup.

Frequently asked questions

What oil does a 2024 Honda Accord take?
0W-20 for both engines. The 1.5L turbo holds 3.7 US qt (3.5 L) with a new filter, and the 2.0L hybrid holds 4.2 qt (4.0 L). One 5-quart jug covers either fill. The grade on the filler cap should read the same.
How much oil does a 2023 Accord Hybrid take?
4.2 qt (4.0 L) of 0W-20, filter included. That's 0.2 qt more than the 2018–2022 hybrid's 4.0 qt (3.8 L), so a number remembered from the older car will leave this one slightly short. Top up to the upper dipstick mark.
How many quarts of oil does a 2025 Accord 1.5 turbo take?
3.7 US qt (3.5 L) of 0W-20 with a filter change, unchanged from the 2018–2022 cars with the same size engine. It's the smallest Accord fill in our tables, so stop well before the jug runs dry.
Does the 2026 Accord use 0W-20?
Yes. 0W-20 is the grade for every 2023–2026 Accord, turbo or hybrid. Capacities are 3.7 qt (3.5 L) for the 1.5L turbo and 4.2 qt (4.0 L) for the 2.0L hybrid, both including the filter. Read the grade on the filler cap to be sure.
Can I use the same oil in my 2023 Accord as in my old 2019?
The grade carries over, since both take 0W-20. The quantity may not. A 1.5L turbo takes 3.7 qt (3.5 L) in either generation, but the hybrid went from 4.0 qt (3.8 L) to 4.2 qt (4.0 L), and the 2019's 2.0L turbo at 5.0 qt (4.8 L) has no 2023 counterpart.
